On 5.9.06, the security camera we setup outside our apartment as a joke caught a bike theif, when Anthony inadvertently left his bike unlocked.

After a rash of bike thefts in the area we installed a security camera on our front porch...my roommate forgot to lock his bike up [as] he was just running in for a few minutes...it was stolen. We gave a copy of this to the police knowing they probably won't catch him but we got his face. THEN, as the officer was here filling out the police report in the parking lot he spotted the suspect crossing the road down the street. He pursued the suspect through the fence into an apartment complex which is over in the city of Bryan (we live right on the line). The suspect spilled the beans and told the officers where she ditched the bike (this was a real low life person, not a student).

So the cop drove us over to where the bike was and we got it (first (hopefully only) time riding in the back of a cop car). Its up to Anthony if he wants to press charges...the officers said that we certainly have enough evidence. This is probably the only bike in this town that has ever been recovered from a theft there are millions bikes on campus.
