Typical Tourist Stuffs
- Arizona Memorial - Short film then visit to memorial in Pearl Harbor to all those who died during attack in WWII. More interesting then it sounds to do once. (quarter to half day)
- Hanauma Bay - You snorkel, you see pretty fish. (half day)
- Diamond Head - Was a gun station during WWII, now a scenic hike overlooking that bit of the island. Kinda strenuous hike, but very pretty at the top. (half day)
- Look out the Pali and drive back on H3 - Kamehameha I drove a bunch of people off the edge of the cliff to conquer Oahu. Now it's a pretty view of that part of the island. And it's super windy, which is fun. (hour / hour+1/2)
- Polynesian Cultural Center - Outdoor exhibits about life on various Polynesian islands, plus a fantastic Vegas style show in the evening. (all day almost)
- Shopping at Wakiki - *The* tourist trap. All the expensive stores, but well worth doing for the nice walk along the beach. (you know --- whatever)
- Boogie boarding on North Shore (3/4 day - depends on picnik or not - takes about 30 min to drive one way)
- Shave Ice at Matsumoto's - Pretty much a must do if you go to the North Shore, since you're driving by it anyway (1/2 hour stop once you're at the north shore)
- Blowhole - Rock shaped so that waves hit it, and a geyser of water shoots out. Cooler then it sounds. :) Plus, the Sandy Beach w/ crazy body-boarders is right next to it. Part of the Blowhole drive (1/2 stop once you're there)
[edit]
Not so Typical
- Aloha Stadium Swap Meet (couple hours in the morning - can buy practically anything in the world and cheap, only Wed, Sat, Sun)
- Eat a plate lunch (at Gracie's) [or Aiea Bowing Alley] [or Kay's Bento in Waipahu] (however long... lunch time is)
- Leonard's Malasada's (just drive through stop)
- Aiea Manapua (same thing)
- Kayaking :)
- Some of the drives, most of the hikes
- Stop at Sandy Beach and watch the crazy body surfers (it's where Obama surfed). Also, usually plate lunch wagons here, so could eat lunch. (pitt stop to half hour or so)
- Watch surfers at Pipeline (if good waves) (same thing)
- Walk out to Mokuauia (Goat Island) at low tide (it's about 1/4 mile into the ocean) (3/4 day -- takes forever to drive, then you'll want to swim and eat, etc)
- Laie Point - See a rock in the distance that looks cool (hole in it). Also, big Morman temple (crazy Mormans)
[edit]
Drives
- Punchbowl [National Cemetery of the Pacific] (an hour --- depends on how much you like history)
- North Shore Edge (half a day -- depends on how much you want to stop in Haleiwa and shop)
- Tantalus (look down) (hour)
- Blowhole side (couple of hours --- depends on if you stop at Sandy Beach and watch body surfers)
- Drive out to Yokohama (Waianae side) (be careful cause we're a bunch of white haoles) (half day)
[edit]

Beaches
So keep in mind it's winter, so all the beaches will suck to some extent compared to the summer. :(
- Hanaumua bay (snorkel, see fish)
- Coves at Ko'olina (calm)
- Waikiki (nice walk along the beach, people to look at, the tourist beach. sunday nights they show a movie on big outdoor screen)
- Kailua (sugary sand, good for boogie boarding, obama compound, watch *lots* of windsurfers or try yourself)
- Waimea Bay (mom's favorite beach; sometimes big surf; it's cool cause the waves come right up and kinda suck you in by the shore in a good way :))
[edit]
Go to Maui
- Yaaa Maui
- By SuperFerry or flying (SuperFerry is more fun cause I don't like flying...)
[edit]
Haleakala
- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haleakala
- High mountain
- Beautiful sunrise/sunset
- Above the clouds
- Fun hikes
- Used to train astronauts
- Observatory
- Obviously I recommend this
[edit]
Other
- Road to Hana (very windy road, famous tourist drive) [seven sacred pools]
- Nicer beaches
- Lahaina
- Very cool snorkling beach
